The European Union
is to spend EUR1.2 million on projects that streamline the business environment
in Mozambique, in implementation of an agreement on economic partnership with
six sub-Saharan African countries.“This first tranche is aimed at preparing all
parties involved to implement the agreement in Mozambique. We are talking about
aspects related to the dissemination of information and training,” the European
Commission Directorate General for Trade’s Gijs Berends told Lusa on the
sidelines of a partnership agreement seminar held in Maputo.The money, Berends
said, would boost Mozambican business, benefiting both private sector companies
and the government.
