Where are the Mozambican civil
society organizations at a time when the ruling party monopolizes the social
media public in favor of their candidate?
Where are the
"analysts" service which does not tire of nicknaming the other
belligerent? Stop where the famous analysts who daily unload their anger
against those who show opposition?
Where is the head chief of the
"national imperative"?
Tilting the scales and then
pretend that all this is normal is to catalyze the fermentation of something
that Mozambicans do not want or accept. It's early fraud are we talking about
when equity is not observed in access to public media for purposes of
electioneering. Those shown or turn a blind eye view of what happens daily in
RM, TVM, "News", "Sunday" are part of the charge to
maintain power at any cost army. This is cheating, they should be sanctioned by
the competent bodies. We do not want the Constitutional
Council will tomorrow say "recommended" to the CNE to change your way
of doing things. It is not necessary that the "Carter Center" or the
European Union may then produce reports of what could have been avoided.
The
urgent intervention of the Higher Media Council to halt the unlawful processing
performed by the organs of public media in relation to equitable access to
political parties are entitled under the law of the Republic of Mozambique is
recommended. We are a country under construction, and their bases should excel
by scrupulous observance of the law. It is dirty and vile tactic promote
election at the expense of the public purse in exclusivity campaigns. The pomp
and the supposed financial muscle of a campaign that is being carried out
enough time with state funds require no approach today and not tomorrow.
Given the escalation of abuse, it
is important that electoral and judicial authorities intervene and forcefully
condemn these procedures. You can not go to vote when one of the players of the
lead due to a series of illegal activity. Encourage fraud undermines the
justice and electoral factor is the emergence of post-electoral conflicts. The
statesmanship, that some speak properly, should be something practical and
visible. Rhetoric and demagoguery are the Mozambicans had enough. The time to act for the creation
of an environment conducive to fair, free and transparent elections is today
and not tomorrow, when "the soup is spilled."
It is dangerous to "play
with fire" and from considerations or myopic visions still a pretty cool
panorama of political and military confrontation. Apathy and precarious
political debate in the country provides the outbreaks of political manipulation
of unknown consequences and also unknown exploitations. To politicians and
their parties are asked civic and responsible behavior that exceeds agendas of
conquest of power.
Mozambique and Mozambican need for reconciliation, close
combat against asymmetries, to promote a fair and respectful society of laws. The
"slogans" and any other message that the parties have to spend in the
public media should receive and deserve the same treatment. The media
bombardment electioneering is done within the pre-established rules and never
inclined to one of the competing parties. Report illegal behavior today means
that responsibility and statesmanship salutary. October and the results you
achieve should not mean death for political opponents. This appeal also
includes the PRM and the FIR, in the sense that these forces must maintain
equidistance in relation to electoral events and proceed in strict compliance
with the law.Pacify Mozambique is more than
rhetoric, is an urgent necessity that involves everyone and with consequences
for all. (N.Nhantumbo)
