The United States government guarantees support to the Ministry of Health of Mozambique, as it prepares to respond to possible cases of infection from the outbreak. The United States Ambassador to Mozambique, Dennis Hearne, said that the departments of State, Defense, Health and Human Services, including the Peace Corps, and the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), could provide assistance to those infected. .

"Our team will work closely with the INS (National Institute of Health) on a mission to redirect part of our resources and efforts to offer support," said Hearne, during his intervention at the meeting. In addition to training INS health personnel, the diplomat said the US government could make infection control supplements available, as well as first aid in isolation centers. “The United States Disease Control Center, its branch here in our mission in Mozambique, is available to help with the assistance mission”, he stressed.

For his part, the European Union Ambassador to Mozambique, Sánchez Benedito, also guaranteed financial and technical support, and recommended the Mozambican government to create a communication channel. The channel, according to Benedito, should have as its main function to establish permanent contact with foreigners in Mozambique. "A communication channel would be important so that embassies, the government, international organizations can inform their citizens, visitors, of the measures that are adopted," he said.
