Government reinforces FDS

The government has reinforced the mobility of Defence and Security Forces (FDS) stationed in Cabo Delgado with the delivery of 80 motorcycles to the 10th sub-unit of the Rapid Intervention Force there, Radio Mozambique reports.Commander-in-chief of the Police, Bernardino Rafael, said that the motorbikes would facilitate the mobility of patrols in the northern operational theatre.Rafael said he expected the new police force in the northern operative theatre to put up a good performance in the fight against the miscreants killing the populace and destroying their possessions.

“We sent 40 motorbikes to Quissanga, and 40 are still here (in Pemba). Others are at the district headquarters of Pemba-Metuge, all with the perspective of making it easier to penetrate swiftly in search of the terrorists’ lairs. The homeland calls upon you, and expects you to restore public order and security in our country!” Commander Rafael said.
