Red line



The International Monetary Fund (IMF) has suspended cooperation with Mozambique Maputo until the Government clarifies a loan in the amount of one billion dollars contracted with a Swiss bank and a Russian bank.The announcement was made on Friday, 15, in Washington, by the director of the IMF African Department, Antoinette Sayeh.Sayeh said the organization was unaware of the loan, which was revealed by the Mozambican Finance Minister Adriano Maleiane, in meetings this week in Washington.The IMF expects the Maputo government report the details of the loan, including who made it and what its destination.However, Sayeh said the Fund has suspended a mission that was to be held next week in Maputo, Mozambique until the Executive meets your request.
