Gunmen reportedly attacked RENAMO, Thursday, 4 cars on the
national road number 1, section Rio Save-Muxungué in Sofala(Beira). According to the
head of the administrative post of Muxungué, Domingos Fernando, the attacks
occurred in Zove zone in the period between six and seven o'clock on Thursday.Domingos
Fernando said to be the first case occurred this year in the region that is
distant twelve kilometers from the village headquarters Muxúngè.The source
pointed out that the attacks, there is no record of fatalities and the eight
occupants of vehicles resumed their trip.A witness who was carrying one of the
attacked car, told the Radio Mozambique that was a little difficult to see such
men, but "the bullets came out of the woods to the road."
"They (the gunmen) started firing several shots at a
truck of health services and three coaches. There were injuries the driver of a
truck (shards of glass), but there were no casualties. "- Said the
witness.The head of the administrative post of Muxungué announced that the
circulation of vehicles on the national road No. 1 runs normally and the
government are on the ground to maintain order and security.It was early last
week that Renamo has made known its intention to control the movement of
vehicles at Save-Muxungué and Beira-Machipanda sections.It should be noted that
the political and military tension in 2013 between armed Renamo men and the
