The visiting United Kingdom Minister of Department for International Development, Nicholas Hurd, is to meet opposition leader Afonso Dhlakama, state-owned AIM reports.Hurd has expressed concern about the situation of Mozambican refugees in neighbouring Malawi following renewed clashes between defence and security forces and armed Renamo men.Hurd, who is conducting a two-day visit to the country, met President Filipe Nyusi yesterday afternoon, when, in addition to reviewing bilateral cooperation between the UK and Mozambique, the two discussed the issue of Mozambicans who are now refugees in Malawi.The British official also expressed his concern about political instability and violence in the country."Political instability worries us, as well as the Tete refugees in Malawi," the British minister said.Hurd said he planned to meet Renamo leader Afonso Dhlakama to address these issues during his visit to the country.
