Commonwealth discusses telecommunications in Maputo

The annual meeting of the Commonwealth Telecommunications Organization (CTO) opened in Maputo on Monday with an address by the Mozambican Minister of Transport and Communications, Carlos Mesquita. The event is organized by CTO in partnership with TDM (Mozambican Telecommunications), and is this year bringing together experts in human resource management under the motto ‘Innovating through people and technology’.At the opening of the panel on ‘The Role of Human Resources in the Development of Information and Communication Technologies’, minister Mesquita said that telecommunication companies must improve and deploy information and communication technology to involve citizens in development-oriented activities.On the same occasion, TDM managing director Zainadin Dalsuco said that holding this meeting in Maputo city resulted from the partnership between TDM and CTO.The annual conference of the CTO brings together some seventy experts and managers in the area of human resources from 17 commonwealth member countries, including Mozambique.
